Art Background
I painted and exhibited detailed watercolors of landscapes and rusty cars as a teenager. At the University of Maryland I got a BFA in painting, printmaking and German.
I studied art in Karlsruhe Germany for a year, sold watercolors at a gallery there and returned to the University of Maryland for my MFA.
For 12 years after, I exhibited Surrealist and Neo Expressionist paintings at ANTON Gallery in Washington DC and was included in a variety of group shows. After a couple years at the Hirshhorn museum and the Walters Art Museum, I began my career at the National Gallery of Art working as a frame maker and conservator.
During my 32 years there, I maintained private frame work and continue today. My last several years have included much time in Delaware where I have revived my watercolor skills and have begun painting larger acrylic landscapes.
